Many of us don’t realize that as per God’s design, He has a storehouse, and what’s even more important is that we are to fill it.
In Malachi 3:10 (NIV), it says.
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.
God wants His people to bring a tenth of what they produce so that they will be food in His house. It isn’t talking about money; it’s about food.
Today we hear from pastors about grace, mercy, and faithfulness. In Matthew 23:23, when Jesus was here, He said this to teachers in that day, “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices–mint, dill, and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law–justice, mercy, and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.
It appears we have neglected some parts of God’s commands while practicing the others.
Today we are working to restore to God His house, how He designed it.
In Psalm 24:1-2 (NIV), it reads.
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.
Everything on this earth belongs to the Lord, who is God of gods and Lord of lords. It would make sense that the God of gods knows how to run His world called earth.
So, the first question we need to ask ourselves is, whose storehouse are we filling?
The second and most important question is, what are we filling it with money or food?
